BECOME A MENTOR TODAY!
Due to the effects of coronavirus on workers around the world:
GiiLD is FREE to all users until further notice.
We want to offer our platform to anyone who will consider
re-skilling into the world of computer programming.
Anyone affected should consider this. The fact is, coronavirus is impacting hourly and service workers around the world. But there is hope for them. THEY can learn to program - in a matter of hours - using GiiLD.
And mentors will help them. YOU will help them.
In order to accomplish this massive reskill effort, we need volunteers to actively mentor.
If you are an IT professional, you can be a mentor.
You can be as active as you like. You can mentor a single person along in their journey, or, you can bounce around and mentor several people when you have the time.
Please let’s all do our part to get people back to work!
GiiLD shows the learning process as a linear Pathway. Both learner and mentor can see progress in real time.
GiiLD builds a learning Pathway. It tracks all assets found on the internet via a simple Bookmarking tool. The learner can take notes using a simple journaling feature. GiiLD helps the learner organize these things by linking them to Tasks. Mentors can follow users and comment on their Journal Entries and/or troll the Forum. Each Challenge spawns its own Forum thread making it easy for Mentors to help out.
Check out the video for easy steps to get started.
If you are interested in being a part of our Mentors & Key Contributors advisory team, please consider lettings us know who you are. We are looking for strong IT professionals who have experience contributing to open source or have formally mentored teams in their day jobs. You would:
Be asked to help specific learners who’s Challenge match your area of expertise
Be asked feedback on ways to improve the GiiLD user experience
Be a part of future Mentors and Key Contributor’s newsletter
Be asked to create cool Challenges for Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced Learners
WE MIGHT HAVE TOLD SOMEBODY IN THE PAST, HERE'S YOUR TASK, HERE ARE THE EXACT STEPS YOU NEED TO TAKE TO ACCOMPLISH IT. (WE) SHOULDN'T DO THAT ANYMORE. (INSTEAD) HERE'S THE OUTCOME I WANT; YOU FIGURE OUT HOW TO GET THERE
